Coprolite (Dinosaur Dung)
Archival Digital Print, printed with pigmented inks on premium matte media
8.5" x 11" $45
Coprolites are classified as trace fossils as opposed to body fossils, as they give evidence for the animal's behavior (in this case, diet) rather than morphology. Coprolites may range in size from a few millimeters to over 60 centimeters. Like other fossils, coprolites have had much of their original composition replaced by mineral deposits such as silicates and calcium carbonates. This specimen makes a spectacular abstract image due to it's color and form. See my other Coprolite. Like geodes? See Thunderegg.
